Amy de Jong has been going to Uganda since 2015 and since then it has been her second home. She was gripped by the great need among people with disabilities in Uganda, who are unfortunately rejected, ignored, or worse. The stories are heartbreaking. God called Amy and showed her that His Father's heart also beats for people with disabilities in Uganda. God asks us to stand up against injustice and to share His love in the lives of broken people.
Since June 2021 Amy lives in Uganda, together with her husband Derrick and their children.
Amy runs her ministry called 'Special Joy', an organisation that cares for special needs children and their families.
Derrick runs his ministry 'Sports for Christ', a soccer team that shares the gospel through sports.
