David and Marleen live with their three children Jedidja, Japheth and Sifra in Mulanje, Malawi.

Marleen works as a tropical doctor at the Mulanje Mission Hospital in Mulanje in the south of Malawi. This hospital falls under the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP), the largest Protestant denomination in Malawi. The hospital has 230 beds and (together with a regional hospital) cares for a population of 550,000 people. In addition to the daily work in the department, she is committed to staff training and improving healthcare in general.

David is committed to various hospital projects that are often aimed at sustainability and poverty reduction. He can also often be found in the IT department of the hospital where he is happy to lend a helping hand.

Out of compassion for people in poverty, David & Marleen went to Malawi to serve the people there and build God's Kingdom. By investing in relationships they want to contribute to physical and spiritual transformation, development and healing.
