Jelle and Janneke know they have been called to commit themselves for the Roma. They are located in Osijek, in eastern Croatia. They work mainly on projects where language is involved, such as translating the Bible and literacy education.
Roma Bible Union
Jelle works with two colleagues in partnership with the Roma Bible Union to start new translation projects in several of the approximately 90 different Roma languages and dialects. Previously, Jelle conducted research on the Roma language and Bible translation with a view to training future Bible translators. Jelle also teaches at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Osijek. Additionally, Jelle is the Roma Outreach Coordinator for iTeams NL which is dedicated to this people group. Janneke is developing a writing ministry giving voice to those women she works amongst.

The Huisman family have been in Croatia since mid 2015. They are dedicated to translating and distributing the Bible in the language that is best understood by the Roma people.
